That’s certainly one way to put it.
In case you missed the news, George Stephanopoulos has been busted for failing to disclose a $50,000 donation to the Clinton Foundation. Apparently, that teeny-tiny little detail just wasn’t worth sharing — and ABC doesn’t think it’s worth kicking up a fuss over:
#Breaking: ABC News will NOT take punitive action against Stephanopoulos: “We accept his apology. It was an honest mistake."

Here’s the thing, though:
Reminder: Olbermann was "suspended indefinitely without pay" from MSNBC for making three $2,400 donations to Democrats.

Oh yeah. ABC News even reported on it!
Guess that kind of thing used to be newsworthy. My, how times have changed!
Hey guys, remember when MSNBC suspended Olbermann for donating $2,400 to three campaigns?
MSNBC: more integrity than ABC. Contemplate that.

But surely this case is different, right?
ABC will cling bitterly to the "charity, not campaign" chimera. @EsotericCD @NoahCRothman

@EsotericCD @redsteeze This is a bit different as it is a 'charitable foundation'. I know, I know…but still…it does claim to be such…
— Georganne (@Georganne72) May 14, 2015
@EsotericCD but…but…it wasn't a campaign it was a CHARITY!! He was doing GOOD! Why don't you get it? @Neal_Dewing
— Third Base Politics (@Ohio3BP) May 14, 2015
Oh wait guys I'm sorry, my mistake — Clinton Foundation is a "charity," not a mostly-opaque slush fund for hiding Clinton wealth.
My bad.
— The Nats Won The World Series (@EsotericCD) May 14, 2015
Heh.
Yeah, this is arguably worse. A lot worse. And when MSNBC is showing more integrity than you, it’s time to do some serious soul-searching.
Unbelievable, but true. https://t.co/NEqSNqIG2x
