One of Joe Biden’s most irksome qualities — and he has many irksome qualities, to be sure — is his pathological refusal to take responsibility for anything bad that happens on his watch and his pathological need to take credit when something good happens. It’s really annoying. Certainly annoying enough to merit countless Twitchy posts.
Well, guess what. It’s a trait that is annoying in anyone who possesses it. Anyone of any political party. And that includes none other than Donald Trump. It’s not immediately obvious whether he’s being serious or joking here, and that may be a problem:
A real quote from Donald Trump about tonight’s results:
"Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit. If they lose, I should not be blamed at all."

OK, see, now, that’s actually funny. What Trump is doing … not so much.
It's overblown. He's making a point about how he thinks he would usually get no credit but take all the blame.

No, that's not his point. I watched the clip. I don't need a Trump whisperer.

If Trump would’ve just left out the first bit entirely and stuck to his later point, where he said “Usually what would happen is that when [the candidates he endorsed does] well, I won’t be given any credit, and if they do badly, they will blame everything on me,” we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation, because he’d maybe have a point. But he didn’t just stick with that. He just had to spice it up.
Sorry, folks, but obnoxious is obnoxious. One can make a compelling case that this is just Trump being cheeky, but he needs to act like a grownup at some point, because this schtick is getting really old.

Maybe you’re inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt on those comments, and that’s fine. But it’s important not to forget what kind of person we’re ultimately dealing with:
BREAKING: On election day, Trump launches another attack against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, warning him not to run in 2024: “If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife.”
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 8, 2022
Gross.
Trump is a piece of garbage. https://t.co/8LKZn5leE4
— Bonchie (@bonchieredstate) November 9, 2022
Screw Trump. What he’s trying to do to DeSantis is a bridge too far. Go lick his boots if you must, but spare me the gaslighting.
Now, I’m gonna enjoy the night.

Does he think this is helpful? Because it isn’t. Does he think this will help him lock in the 2024 nomination? Because it won’t. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. He had his turn and threw several tantrums when his turn was up. It’s time for some new blood. Preferably from someone with some humility and maturity and the capacity for introspection.
