David Hogg's 'not going to have kids in a country' where abortion's restricted, warns of US 'having a brain drain problem' if others follow his lead

It goes without saying that David Hogg is very, very angry about the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a decision that effectively overturns nearly 50 years of the “settled law” that was Roe v. Wade.

And speaking of things that go without saying, if we were David Hogg, we’d have gone without saying what impact Dobbs would have on our life.

But David Hogg, being David Hogg, didn’t go without saying it. So we are, of course, going to share what he said with all of you:

As scary as the prospect of more little David Hoggs not running around out there in America might be to some people, we feel like if we try hard enough, we’ll be able to pick up the pieces and get on with our lives.

Seriously, David, if you ultimately decide to follow Billie Joe Armstrong to the UK (which has their own abortion restrictions, for the record) and start your family in London or something, we’re totally fine with that. We wish you all the best. We’ll even help you pack, if you need a hand.

We hope that David Hogg’s tweet isn’t so much a threat as it is a promise. And the best part is that he claims that he’s not alone in his desire to get the hell outta dodge and go have babies somewhere where it’s easier to kill them:

“The U.S. could start having a brain drain problem” if David Hogg and his likeminded pals take their leave and go. A brain drain problem.

You guys. You guys.

They can’t? Why can’t they? Where there’s a will, there’s a way! And maybe they’ll find that way if David takes the first step and leads by example. That way, everybody wins!
