Popular Science would just like to remind everyone that it's highly problematic to 'think beef is manly'

Popular Science is ostensibly about, well, popular science.

But we’d like to know what their current definition of “popular” and “science” are, because the views expressed in this tweet seem to be neither popular nor scientific:

We should note that Popular Science was sharing an article originally published in October 2019. Apparently they thought it would be a good one to dust off again on a day when many Americans would be having barbecues where beef would be served.

According to our calculations, it was not, in fact, a good idea.
