It’s time for some Real Talk. Did you know that women have periods but no one ever talks about it? Well, actress Busy Philipps thinks that needs to change. That’s why she’s lent her considerable talents to a new CBS documentary about how nobody talks about periods:
“If men had their periods, it would be like f*cking celebrated… it would be like a holiday.” Watch @BusyPhilipps in the new CBSN Originals doc, “Period. Half the population has one. But no one talks about it,” streaming now: https://t.co/uEhCGTr0Fo pic.twitter.com/dhCBcJOT3j

First of all, do we really need to talk about women having their periods to know that women have their periods?
As a woman, I'm quite ok without national conversations on periods, or a holiday, or a celebration. I couldn't make it past the first minute of the video, the women were so obnoxious.

Same.
— NANC (@Nanc___) May 27, 2019
Just because CBS News is filled with figurative lady parts they don't need to report on what actual lady parts do.
— アーケットシスターズ (@ArquetteSisters) May 27, 2019
It’s absurd. Why would I talk about it? Why would it be celebrated? It’s a bodily function
— Andy Lancaster (@andylancaster) May 27, 2019
everyone poops but we don't have poop parties https://t.co/Pdyx7TBPoj

Both sexes poop. That’s not generally celebrated

Also, if no one is talking about women having a period, apparently the makers of tampons and pads didn’t get the memo, because they’re quite comfortable doing print and TV ads for their products. Plenty of women talk about them. Just because most men don’t want to hear about it doesn’t mean half the population is being silenced.
No one talks about that time of the month? I heard about it constantly when I was married. What planet is she living on?
— Fake Noose (@LetItBurnUSA) May 27, 2019
Nobody talks about it?!? I’m married with three teenage daughters. Believe me, they talk about it.

There are hundreds of blogs about women and their periods. This is really confusing women talk about the horrors of a period all the time
— H Town Pride/Who Dat Nation (@Jmmitchell71) May 26, 2019
Kind of like childbirth, we talk about it. I didn't talk to men about it much, except my husband. Being that it happened every month, of course we talk about it. Then we talked about menopause.

"Nobody talks about periods" claims Network TV documentary about periods.
— neontaster (@neontaster) May 27, 2019
The “no one talks about it” while talking about something is a super annoying argument.
— Scott Bridgeman (@Devils73) May 27, 2019
It really is.
Another problem with this hypothetical is that if men got periods, they would be women. Aside from that, “Presented by Pfizer” is a real hoot.

And that brings us to the real elephant in this room: Busy’s transphobia.
Isn’t she transphobic? ??♂️
— Scott Kane (@gcems645) May 27, 2019
Seems transphobic to me
— Kelly Campagna (@warriorwoman91) May 27, 2019
Her comments are transphobic, tbh.
— Karol Markowicz (@karol) May 27, 2019
This is incredibly transphobic @BusyPhilipps.
— Meredith (@FletchHerCox) May 27, 2019
She is transphobic to the core
— IRONY MAN (@karanku100) May 27, 2019
Her statement is rather transphobic.
Ain’t them the rules?

Them’s the rules.
