Losing a Senate primary by nearly 30 points to Ken Paxton after decades in Washington and millions spent apparently hasn’t inspired much humility from Sen. John Cornyn. The outgoing Texas Republican shared a Wall Street Journal piece framing MAGA and Zohran Mamdani’s Democratic Socialists as matching “extremes,” and Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway wasn’t about to let the sore-loser framing slide.
It all started here where petty John Cornyn tried comparing MAGA to socialists.
No, really.
The extremes of both parties—Republicans’ MAGA wing represented by JD Vance and the progressive left represented by Zohran Mamdani—have drawn closer to each other, @greg_ip writes. https://t.co/G6X7ZCGc7T via @WSJ

What a petty toad.
Mollie Hemingway was having none of it:
I know it’s been unbearable for Cornyn to lose his race even with all his $$/advantages, but this is a shameful downplaying of the extremism of DSA policies. And MAGA (which Cornyn recently claimed to be!!) is not an “extreme wing,” but the vast majority of Texas GOP voters. https://t.co/PZa3qV3WCs

It was at this point that John got all sorts of defensive and tried to downplay posting it in the first place:
It is a @WSJ article. I am not endorsing but I believe it is something worth considering. Read it. You might learn something. https://t.co/WyUx5LNcCo

Aww, look at that snide little post.
And he wonders why he lost.
Kurt Schlichter with the final drop from the top of the ropes:
This useless piece of crap doesn’t even have the courage of his lack of convictions. https://t.co/ym5pMMIjRu
