I cannot watch Jon Stewart lecture anyone about captured brains without wanting to throw a remote through the television. Maybe I need more coffee? Maybe less.
Somebody recirculated that Apple TV clip of him sitting there, all furrowed-brow seriousness, explaining how propaganda works — how people get so deep inside a narrative they never notice they’re part of the machine. Across from him is a European politician with the EU flags behind her, giving him the polite smile you give a man who has just described himself in high definition.That’s the part that gets me.

Stewart built a career telling half the country they were rubes. Fox was state TV. Conservatives were too dumb to see they were being played. And here he is, years later, still doing the same bit on a prestige streamer, warning about media ecosystems that flatten reality — without once looking in the direction of Comedy Central, MSNBC, or the late-night assembly line he helped invent.
I don’t need a thesis. I have the face on the other side of the table. She knows. Half the comments know. The joke writes itself because he never gets it.

The man who spent decades insisting he was “just a comedian” whenever the facts went sideways now wants to be the adult in the room about disinformation. Cool. Start with the monologue factory. This is why these clips keep coming back. Not because anyone discovered a new interview. Because Stewart is still the last person in the building who thinks the warning is for somebody else. Imagine not realizing you’re part of the problem. He’d never get suckered. He’s too smart. He’d recognize it if his brain got captured.Yeah. That would be crazy.
