WI 'Political' Journo Deletes UGLY Posts About Tom Tiffany's Emergency Water Landing (Got 'EM)

Hope Karnopp is in SERIOUS cleanup mode after her first pass at Tom Tiffany’s emergency lake landing landed like a lead balloon.

The Journal Sentinel reporter says people just misunderstood her when she started talking about how deep Lake Wausau is, and that she was only trying to add “context” in a breaking-news scramble — not suggest a plane losing power and hitting the water was no big deal.

Wisconsin readers heard it differently. A statewide candidate and his pilot had to swim for it after the aircraft started going under. First responders pulled them out. That’s not a trivia question about bathymetry. When the follow-up is basically “I didn’t mean it that way,” you’ve already told the room how the original posts sounded.

Here are the posts she deleted:

I posted tweets earlier that were misunderstood. I was attempting to point out that the depth of the lake could have caused the plane to hit rocks, creating an even more dangerous situation.
