Late last week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released the new ‘posters’ for her Green New Deal and people noticed something sort of peculiar about the artwork and voiced their concerns.
Take a gander for yourself.
Our #GreenNewDeal posters are inspired by the original New Deal, updated for our future.
During the New Deal, FDR launched Federal One, a US project that employed 5,300 artists that created & taught art to envision America’s future.

Sooo … what’s the deal?
What's the deal With @AOC's retro-style GND posters? https://t.co/C87U6XegGV

From citylab.com:
The posters were designed by the New York firm Tandem, which was also behind the congresswoman’s election campaign. Scott Starrett, a co-founder of Tandem, created them with artist Gavin Snider. Starrett said that more posters, of local parks in cities other than New York, will follow, but the timing of their release is uncertain.
If the posters seem at first glance to have a retro vibe, you’re not wrong, as the congresswoman confirmed in a follow-up tweet. The chunky all-caps type, the emphasis on places of natural beauty, and even the color palettes are intended to evoke posters produced nearly a century ago by a singular federal program in American history: the Federal Art Project, an office of the New Deal-era Works Progress Administration.
FDR.
Big government art.
Socialism. Communism.
And AOC doesn’t get why the art might make people uncomfortable?
“The retro posters nudge viewers to recall that big, federal-government-led plans have a long history in the U.S…
The Civilian Conservation Corps, for example, enrolled a total of 3 million young men who helped manage forests, control soil erosion, and prevent floods” https://t.co/Rs1Eani4H6

Nothing to see here folks.
The Government price fixing new deal plan was a failure. The Great Depression was caused by government. We aren’t committing the same mistakes again just because you don’t know history.

Oh, that too.
It also recalls the propaganda posters put out by the Soviet Union, and North Korea.

Can your next posters show these charts? pic.twitter.com/Sp3ffaToXb
