Today, New Jersey passed sweeping gun safety legislation, including measures to expand background checks, reduce magazine capacity, and keep firearms out of the wrong hands.

On Wednesday, I'll sign these bills into law, establishing some of the toughest gun laws in the nation.

Interesting how Alyssa is trying to claim victory over legislation as far as we can tell she had nothing to do with.

I'm a NJ vet. I protected a NJ senator during my duty. It took me 10 months + a lawyer to get a gun purchase permit in NJ! I can protect politicians, but not my own home?!

Most of these laws already existed in NJ. It is to make folks, whom obviously know nothing about existing NJ gun Laws, to feel like progress is being made. But it is all redundant. Im for gun sense but this doesn't move the needle. Armor piercing-when/where were they available?

Shhh … they’re rolling.

Please clarify for the public how lowering the maximum magazine size to 10 will save lives. This number seems arbitrary, especially since the state already lowered the maximum to 15, and made people purchase new magazines once before. Is the 10 based on any studies? Thank you.
