Fans sometimes feel like they are part of a team’s success. Part of it is because of the money they spend buying things like tickets and jerseys. Now one is attempting to cut out the middle man.
Tony Le Mon, a Saints season-ticket holder, has created “Fans Step Up”, a fundraising effort to bridge the gap in contract negotiations between the Saints management and Drew Brees.
Sure, Drew Brees is a great quarterback. Sure, he played a big part in helping the team win the Super Bowl. And yeah, they may be pretty awful without him. But isn’t it the job of the actual rich people to make Brees richer?
Hasn’t this country been in a recession? If we’re all willing to keep Drew Brees in New Orleans, maybe I should set up an account for people to help pay my college loans.
And what happens to the money if there isn’t enough raised or the Saints turn the funds down?
So far $738.09 has been raised. If you go by people’s reactions on Twitter even that much seems astonishing.
I love Drew Brees but thoughts on this fan initiated trust to pay him more? I dunno. Seems ridiculous to be padding his income.

Wait, there a website to donate money to Drew Brees? HE'S ALREADY A MILLIONAIRE. WHY ARE WE GIVING HIM MORE?

I feel sorry for whatever misguided Saints fan contributes his own money to make Drew Brees more of a millionaire. http://t.co/L4Z65sKl
