Subway authority capitulates, bans ads that could 'incite or provoke violence'

Despite being jailed overnight for vandalism and facing a hearing in November, cable news commentator Mona Eltahawy seems to have won a victory already. The Blaze reports that New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority on Thursday added language to its ad policy that allows the MTA to reject ads “which the MTA reasonably foresees would incite or provoke violence.”

Just to clarify, we’re talking about the MTA in New York City. In the United States.

So, the Transit Authority is now the authority on what posters might cause otherwise reasonable commuters to become violent? We don’t imagine this scenario has crossed their minds, but it’s a good question.
