Gen. Michael Hayden hits DEFCON 3 on the OMG-o-meter with Trump's latest on Russia

At a cabinet meeting a few minutes ago, President Donald Trump answered “No” when asked if “Russia is still targeting the U.S.?”

NEW: During WH Cabinet meeting pooler @CeciliaVega asks POTUS "Is Russia still targeting the US?" to which the President answers "No".

This would be the opposite of what Director of National Intelligence Dan Coates just said last week, however:

No, we can’t say this was unexpected:

With DEFCON 5 being peace and DEFCON 1 being, “Mom took away the teen girl’s phone,” OMG-3 is pretty darn serious.

Sen. Lindsey Graham offered up a more sober take on the “discrepancy”:

A BIG discrepancy between President Trump’s statement and DNI Coates’ warning.

It’s imperative we get to the bottom of what is going on so we can be prepared to protect ourselves in advance of the 2018 elections.
