Chelsea Handler looking forward to the world getting browner and gayer following tax vote

Newly minted political activist Chelsea Handler seems to have found the bright side of the House’s passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Tuesday. If we’re reading her tweet correctly (and we’re sober, so maybe not), she thinks the backlash against the bill will drive minorities into public office in 2018? Or does she mean we’ll have more compassionate representatives in office in 2018 to take care of minorities?

Tax reform will result in sweeping success in 2018 for minorities everywhere. We will finally elect people 2 public office who know a thing or two about compassion and empathy. Don’t give up the fight. The world is getting browner and gayer, and it’s going to be beautiful.

We’ll admit we hadn’t connected the GOP tax bill to the world getting browner and gayer, but if it serves as some consolation to Handler, we’ll allow it.
