Raiders players push back on story that black OL intentionally let white QB David Carr get hurt over anthem protests

Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Brent Grimes, accused the Oakland Raiders’ offensive line (all of whom are black) of allowing star QB Derek Carr (who is white) to get hurt over Carr allegedly telling players not to kneel during the national anthem before the team’s game against the Washington Redskins earlier this season.

As they say, big — if true:

Grimes later took to Twitter to defend her comment, saying it’s a rumor she heard and “just repeated”:

Yeah, repeated without any digging of her own. The version that’s been going around has a lot of errors, to say the least.

Let’s just say this is freaking insane:

Here’s the play where Grimes thinks the Raiders OL allowed Carr to get injured. First, the injury happened a week later against Denver. Second, it’s a bootleg play away from the protection and Carr held the ball for about 5 seconds, which is an eternity in the NFL:

Twitchy readers may remember Grimes after her arrest in 2015 for head-butting an officer at a Miami Dolphins game:

Chargers were later dropped against Grimes over what the prosecutor called “irreconcilable differences in witness testimony.”

Raiders players are starting to react to Grimes interview, and they’re not happy. Via ESPN’s Dianna Russini:

As for Carr and the Raiders, here’s what the QB tweeted last night:

Seem that everything is fine with us. Why stoke racial issues?
