As Twitchy reported earlier, Cpl. Eric Casebolt, the McKinney Police Department officer who was the subject of protests after video of his actions at a pool party went viral, announced through a lawyer today that he had resigned from the force. McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley held a 5:30 p.m. press conference to address Casebolt’s resignation.
Far from defending Casebolt, Conley said that Casebolt had been “out of control” from the start of the incident and was the only one of 12 officers at the scene whose actions were not only wrong but “indefensible.”

#McKinney PD presser: Will he be able to keep pension? "I believe so." You didn't see that question coming? C'mon, now.

#McKinneyPD Chief confirms Casebolt will keep his pension and benefits. He also says there were complaints in his file, but no details.

The ability to keep his pension was cited often by those activists who were determined that Casebolt’s resignation was merely “Step 1” and were still demanding his arrest.
Eric Casebolt resigns from #McKinneyPolice – Why is that important? It stops the internal affairs investigation. And he's not fired.

Casebolt resigning means no discipline from IA investigation. No "marks" in his TCOLE file. Can still work as officer pic.twitter.com/zPd81u2aep

If @CityOfMcKinney finishes their investigation, they can't discipline someone who doesn't work there. Only option is to charge criminally.
— Mireya Villarreal (@cbsmireya) June 9, 2015
TCOLE only puts "marks" in officer's file if they are fired or disciplined. If #McKinney PD doesn't charge w/excessive force, it falls on DA

Lawsuits are highly probably in #mckinneypoolparty case – But Casebolt would be one of many sued. Deeper pockets are w/@CityOfMcKinney

Takeaway: If u're a cop who's gonna misbehave, esp on camera, make sure vics are white, Mexican national, don't fit current MSM narrative.
