Salon posted a piece today on the life and death of Jesus Christ (originally from the website Religion Dispatches) with what we assume they think is some sort of bombshell for their readers:

Jesus went to hell: The Christian history churches would rather not acknowledge
Prior to his resurrection, Christ descended to the underworld — a paradox most churches would rather not confront
