Several local media outlets are reporting that there is currently a hostage situation underway at the Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, Texas.

ABC 13 in Houston reports:

A hostage situation is unfolding at Tomball Regional Medical Center, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

It’s happening at the hospital at 605 Holderrieth Boulevard. At this time preliminary information is that a man is holding at least two people hostage inside the hospital.

It is unknown at this time whether he is armed.

A message directly from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office:

Tomball police said they believe the father does have a gun, while the county sheriff’s office says it’s still unknown if he is armed. At least one reporter says sources told him the man was likely armed with an “assault rifle.”
