Dr. Hedy Fry is a member of Canada's Parliament, and we learned something from her on Sunday. Apparently, Canadians have been boycotting American products and travel for the past six months, and, according to an unnamed source, 71 percent of Canadians have stood strong. It's time for Canadian producers and sellers to get in line, if they're not there already.
Interesting to hear that 71% of Canadians have been constant in their boycott of USA products and USA travel. It has now been over 6 months that we have stayed the course. Shows our determination and grit! Time for Canadian producers & sellers, to get in line and be clear about "made in Canada" designation, which is still fuzzy. Get with the program! Support Canadian farmers and businesses 🇨🇦

This editor is weak and admits to consuming Canadian content, now that SCTV has hit Netflix.
@HedyFry Funny. You’ve been doing it six months and no one here in the United States has even noticed.

@HedyFry Yep, the USA economy is on its last legs. https://t.co/42uSjsUpoT

@HedyFry Lol. As an American I can honestly say I have been boycotting Canada for years. Not because I dont like you folks...you have NOTHING I have wanted or needed. Enjoy your socialized suicide and free defense from us stupid Americans.

@HedyFry You’re announcing a boycott of American products and travel on X, an American company. That’s the whole problem with these campaigns: selective where it’s easy, ignored where it’s inconvenient.

@HedyFry Does it mean less Canadians taking up tee times in South Florida this winter? God please let this be true.

@HedyFry The other 29% are busy using US doctors and hospitals because they can't get care in Canada other than MAID.

@HedyFry And. . . we in the US had no idea. Sorry. But that says volumes. We like you guys up there. You make us laugh. Thanks.

Someone in the comments explained where the 71 percent figure came from. A September poll found 71 percent of people who voted Liberal in 2025 are avoiding U.S. goods when a non-American alternative exists.
@HedyFry Last I checked the average Canadian has no money to travel. Taxes are so punishing and the average pay so low, they are stuck at home, eh. So pardon me if the threat lands with a thud.

@HedyFry Are you mixing and conflating the purchases and the travel? Because the Canadian imposed tariffs and the shitty Canadian dollar have made both more expensive. It’s not a political statement, it’s a statement that… https://t.co/pHgLdTS9CV

@HedyFry Canadians own about 30,000 homes and condos in Arizona. I'll be waiting for all the Canadian snowbirds to sell up soon. ⏱️

@HedyFry Many Americans are trying to boycott Canadian products too but can't find any of them anywhere. Dr. Fry do you have any suggestions?

Molson?
@HedyFry We will see if your new trade partners are as willing to let you fleece them like Canada did to the USA. Good luck

@HedyFry As an American, I support your efforts 100%. Also as an American, I could not care less.
— Caretaker (@robedstuddard) October 5, 2026
@HedyFry We Americans don’t give a shit. We don’t need Canada for anything. You can start providing for your own security as well.

@HedyFry Dr. Fry, if you play poker, you know it's critical to identify the "patsy" at the table quickly. If you can't, it's you. Mark Carney holds a pair of 3's and just went "all-in". https://t.co/bC1QqDE0ZG

@HedyFry This is called virtue signaling. It’s Canada biggest export.

@HedyFry There's a boycott? This is the first I've heard of it. Sounds super effective.
— SDStacy (@Smwake2) October 5, 2026
@HedyFry I literally live on the border with Canada and I wasn't aware. But I'm hoping Canadians muster their resolve to boycott us so there will be less traffic in my neighborhood.
— MichiganMisfit (@faithbl16308165) October 5, 2026
@HedyFry Oh really? That's news to me because literally no one in America knows or cares. You guys are a collective rounding error.
— RebelEagle (@RebelEagleX) October 5, 2026
@HedyFry Americans don’t care and you are only hurting yourself. But do what you want, Canada is the one slipping into insolvency
— Sir Chugs (@vitale1776) October 5, 2026
@HedyFry You realize that 10% of your entire economy comes from USA tourism into Canada? You better pray that we don’t stop coming there and be as childish as you guys have been on this.
— Buffamafia (@Buffamafia) October 5, 2026
That can't be right. Tourism to what? Niagara Falls? We have that at home.
@HedyFry Never noticed, to tell you the truth, you should support your own farmers and businesses, though, but in reality, I never even noticed you had a boycott, but keep on trucking, maybe someday the USA will notice at least something. https://t.co/0pJ6SCIOAe

Apparently, the boycott is real, and its slogan is "elbows up." You go, Canada.
