MI’s Jewish AG Supports Abdul El-Sayed Because He’ll Better Protect Separation of Church and State

Hey, look, it's Aaron Rupar, who's apparently caught Secretary of War Pete Hegseth saying something damning.

We'd thought that Texas Senate candidate James Talarico had us convinced that it's a good thing to let the Scriptures dictate how you'd govern. It's funny how you don't hear the usual suspects scream about the separation of church and state when Talarico tells Jimmy Kimmel how Jesus would govern as a senator.

Some MAGA types would have you believe that the greatest threat to the separation of church and state isn't an Office of Religious Affairs in the military, but rather creeping Sharia law escorted in quietly by Muslim candidates like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani or Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Fortunately, we have the clear eyes of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who assures us that, as a Jew, she endorses El-Sayed because his opponent, Mike Rogers, will follow Hegseth's lead and "confirm judges hellbent on destroying any separation of church and state." What Rogers has to do with Hegseth has to do with separation of church and state, we don't know.

The mental gymnastics of going from Hegseth's announcement to an endorsement of El-Sayed are incredible.
