Sen. Chris Van Hollen Says Act to Ban Stock Trading Would 'Disenfranchise American Voters'

As Twitchy reported earlier Wednesday afternoon, Senate Democrats voted unanimously to block the Stop Insider Trading Act from advancing. Sen. Dick Durbin earned himself a ratio by posting that the act did not "adequately" ban congressional stock trading, even though it proposed a total ban on buying stocks for members, their spouses, and dependent children. Durbin added that it included "a sweeping voter suppression measure," also known as voter ID.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen also took to X to complain that the Stop Insider Trading Act was "fraudulent," as it was packaged with a bill to disenfranchise American voters.

Van Hollen and Durbin need to meet and align their talking points. Durbin said it wasn't a total ban on stock trading. Van Hollen seems to think it was, but it was packaged with a bill that would disenfranchise American voters.

At least he's on record.

Maryland men.

Even the majority of Democrats support voter ID, but Van Hollen is still going with the tired argument that it would disenfranchise Americans.
