Gov. Gavin Newsom Signs Bills Restricting ICE’s Use of Flash Bangs, Shock Gloves, Gets Trolled

If his name and title weren't so long, we'd put First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli's name in our headline as the one who's been trolling the Governor Newsom Press Office this week. The tools in the press office have been touting Newsom's signature on bills that would ban ICE agents under siege from using flash-bang grenades and shock gloves and also impose a tax (that's novel) on private detention centers.

To protect Californians? Or to protect illegal aliens living in California? To terrorize people? You mean the mobs rioting around ICE detention centers, hurling frozen water bottles, chunks of concrete, and fireworks at ICE agents? It really wouldn't be fair to terrorize them back.

"… need to escalate dangerous situations."

Objectively, it's looking less and less likely that Newsom is going to be the Democrats' pick to run in 2028.

The press office wasn't done bragging:

We haven't seen a witty retort from Izzy or the rest of the kids at the Governor Newsom Press Office account.
