Many people looked at the landslide in Nepal recently and saw a tragedy, but others like Sen. Adam Schiff saw that horrific devastation and saw opportunity.
Though recent polls have shown the issue of climate change to be nowhere near the top of the list of voters' concerns, instinct requires Democrats like Adam Schiff to keep trying to sound the alarm. Nothing they predict ever comes to fruition, but that's not about to stop Schiff-ty:

Assuming stationarity, if you have, let’s suppose, 10,000 different towns, it can be expected that 100 of those towns will experience a “100-year-flood” every year. This can be applied to forest fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and blizzards too.
By definition, hundred-year storms are normal and always have been.
As for glaciers, well, they began receding long before mankind began pumping CO₂ into the atmosphere. So, not all of that is able to be blamed on our carbon sins.
I’d tell you to stick to politics, but you aren’t really good at that either because the U.S. is running a $40 trillion-dollar deficit.

The Left's reaction to natural disasters is always "we need to spend a lot more taxpayer money so this doesn't happen again. Is there nothing that tax increases can't accomplish?
