Last week, Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she was proud to sign on to fellow Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley's letter "to address these widespread modern-day lynchings and put a stop to this racial terror." AOC noted that this year, there had been 10 reported hangings of black people. Plenty of people were happy to let AOC know that nine of those "lynchings" showed no evidence of foul play, and the tenth was being treated as a homicide investigation, with the suspect being the woman's black father of one of her children (most headlines leave that bit out).

Pressley has lynchings on the brain, telling cable news that beloved Michael Jackson impersonator Jordan Neely was "lynched" on the New York subway.
On Sunday, Rep. Shontel Brown announced via video that she was joining Pressley in demanding a federal investigation into this rash of lynchings.

The feds are more than happy to investigate. They sent, what, 15 FBI agents to look into the "noose" in Bubba Wallace's stall, which had been there for months before it was even assigned to him.
