Vindman was running to be the Democrat nominee for Senate in Florida. Ashley Moody, the Republican, is pretty much a shoo-in, but Vindman thought he had a chance. He couldn't even win the primary against a crazy person.

To be fair, Vindman is a carpetbagger. Nixon, however, is a member of the Socialist party and hates Jewish people. That doesn't play well in Florida. There are a whole bunch of people who fled Communism here and also many Jewish people.
