The Supreme Court ruled that yes, the Trump administration can end Temporary Protected Status for around 350,000 Haitians, who've enjoyed TPS since January 2010. That's 16 years of "temporary" status. Those Haitians who escaped the aftermath of an earthquake shouldn't have gotten comfortable, but why not, when administration after administration keeps extending that initial 18-month period for a decade and a half?
Here's a Haitian man being fitted with an ankle monitor by ICE.

Why not just deport him? Geraldo Rivera claims that deporting Haitians to their home country is "sending them straight to hell."
Expelling Haitian immigrants is sending them straight to hell.

Reminder that this guy was given a choice of a plane ticket home and $2,600 or the ankle monitor and he chose the ankle monitor. pic.twitter.com/jpzskBMbgy

Good thing they had a camera ready to go, amiright?

Look at how horrified he is at the prospect of being sent back to live among his own people.

That is how horrified I am at the prospect of his people coming here.
They all knew it was temporary and offered no path to citizenship. They have been here too long.

Question, why give him the ankle monitor? ICE knows where he is, found him, talked to him. Why not just deport him right then and there?

Why waste the time of doing this?

He shouldn’t need an ankle monitor on his plane back to Haiti

He should be happy. Haiti is a great country. Conan O'Brien said so.

Why are they not deporting him? Temporary means temporary. Time for him to make Haiti great.

Tell him we're sorry that all those delays led him to believe that "temporary" meant "permanent".

If anything, the government's to blame for extending TPS over and over again. President Barack Obama declared it for 18 months — that should have been it.
