Wow! Wilson Kipsang of Kenya runs new World Record in Berlin Marathon

Kenya’s Wilson Kipsang set a new world record for the marathon in Berlin this morning.

According to Flotrack, Kipsang finished in a time of two hours, three minutes, and 23 seconds (an average pace of 4:42 per mile). The previous record, 2:03:38, was set by fellow Kenyan Patrick Makau.

Since 2003, the men’s world marathon record has been broken five times, and every one of those records took place in Berlin.
