Charlie Crist’s running mate Karla Hernández probably thought she was being cute by sharing this video of her “helping” a Florida community:

There’s a lot going on here but let’s start with her snarky mischaracterization of the boots she’s referring to, pictured below:
These “white rain boots” are more commonly known by Floridians who live in reality as muck boots, and they’re designed for potentially hazardous conditions. As in, the type of conditions you may find after a hurricane has hit your state.
Speaking of hazardous conditions, who decided it was a good idea to let Karla Hernández on a job site with what appears to be absolutely no personal protection equipment? No safety glasses, no gloves, and not to mention that loose hair looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Great points. How much help is it when restoration efforts have to grind to a halt because a candidate can’t be bothered to follow basic safety guidelines, all in the name of a photo-op?
