'Catching on yet?' Black lawmakers call Florida's new anti-riot bill a heartless return to the Jim Crow era

Back when President Trump proposed the “1776 Project” as a counter to the thousands of schools that had adopted the New York Times’ 1619 Project into their curriculums, liberals deliberately misrepresented Trump’s desire to put patriotism back into history, alleging he was going to eliminate the teaching of slavery. We’re curious about what young people are being taught in history these days, because they’re certainly hearing the words “Jim Crow” thrown around a lot.

The filibuster which Sen. Barack Obama vigorously defended? President Biden and other Democrats now call it a “Jim Crow relic.” State voting reforms passed by Republicans? Biden said during his first press conference that they make “Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle.” And Georgia’s new election law? Biden says it’s “Jim Crow on steroids.”

Axios has a piece out today on Florida’s “controversial” anti-riot bill and reports, “Black lawmakers hate the bill, calling it a ‘heartless’ return to the Jim Crow era that would stifle dissent.”

Also, Gov. Ron DeSantis laid out the framework of the bill after 2020’s “largely peaceful protests.”

Where’s Biden going to go now that he’s dropped both “Jim Eagle” and “Jim Crow on steroids”?
