Dan Rather wants journalists to look outside 'country diners' when looking for 'average voters'

Rather has a favor to ask of his fellow journalists, though: When seeking out “average voters” for a story, try to get out of those country diners and find people in large, urban areas.

They really need to get out of flyover country and talk to the folks in New York City and Washington, D.C. for a change.

And this is the only time that Democratic presidential candidates pretend that they give a damn about them.

It’s pretty amazing how little the diverse, urban elite think of the toothless illiterates named Cletus who frequent these country diners. They might be in for another surprise in 2020.
