Huh? “Vacation”?
@petermaercbs Scare quotes. If hanging out in Martha's Vineyard for two weeks isn't factually a vacation, what is it?
— Razor (@hale_razor) August 9, 2014
Good question!
@petermaercbs what else would it be? Sabbatical?

CBS’ Peter Maer offered up his alleged reasoning:
@hale_razor Presidents are never on "vacation."
— PETER MAER (@petermaer) August 10, 2014
Really? We wonder if he stuck to that story during the Bush presidency. Oh wait … looky here!
Pres.Obama has taken 14 vacations since taking office. GW Bush took 57 at this point in his term. Bush spent 323 days at his TX ranch.

Booosh!
And what about this tweet from 2012?
Pres.Obama is expected to cut his vacation short and return to DC as early as tomorrow to resume search for fiscal cliff compromise.
— PETER MAER (@petermaer) December 26, 2012
Why would he need to cut it short if it was only a “vacation” anyway?
It’s OK though, guys. We will be sure to get some awesome scoop regardless during the “vacation,” as Mr. Maer will be on the case:
@markknoller @dblozik @MajorCBS @petermaercbs – Jobless Americans really want to hear 'what flavor ice cream' obama is shoving in his yap.
