Apparently, the Left has decided it needs to come up with some policy platform other than 'impeach Trump' for the midterms, so they've landed on 'Free Primary Care for All'. That's different from their former plans of 'Free Healthcare for All'. Aren't you inspired?
Scoop: Democratic think tank @SearchlightInst is pushing the party to embrace a new idea: Free primary care for all Americans.
— Sahil Kapur (@sahilkapur) May 15, 2026
The group wants Dems to rethink their approach to health care and break out of the M4A vs ACA rut. They’re unimpressed with CAP’s proposal and warn that…
Now, you can wait for months to be seen for the common cold or high blood pressure. Yay!
Brilliant. How about we just do…free healthcare for all Americans? https://t.co/truYefcW6M

Oh, wonderful! The Dem Michigan Senate candidate who pretends to be a physician but is not a physician weighs in.
It is not a "scoop" that an oligarch-funded think tank opposes Medicare For All. This is only a "scoop" for those who've slept through the last 60 years of American politics. https://t.co/ChJ13obhjK

David will say 'it's racist' next.
Would be interesting if it were a universal public plan that just covered primary care (with potential to be expanded later). But it's actually just adding more primary care codes to Essential Health Benefits. https://t.co/cSmNqsQnml

It's more dumb government bureaucracy that will result in worse outcomes and make going to the Doctor more expensive.
A lot of folks are talking about the importance of compromise, but who are we compromising for?
— Melat Kiros for Congress, CO-1 (@MelatKirosCO) May 15, 2026
65% of Americans support Medicare for All.
This compromise isn’t for us, it’s for big pharma/insurance because when our reps are taking their donations, that’s who they answer to. https://t.co/WW92vEILeD
A whole bunch of people think they agree with it until they start paying the high taxes to pay for it and start waiting for months to see a doctor.
Look me in my eyes and tell me this wouldn’t be transformative for millions of American families https://t.co/10HLmm0hl7 pic.twitter.com/LpwSMZbjxB

Millions of people who are on Medicaid have that experience already. They also wait hours to see doctors. People who have private insurance like being able to be seen right away and are willing to pay for the elevated experience. Perhaps let people decide what they want.
Also, doctors don't get paid well (like in the UK where they barely make six figures) and suddenly our doctor shortage is worse than ever.
This is a terrible idea.

Free primary care for all sounds great until you remember that free never means free.
It means the bill moves from the exam room to taxes and new bureaucracy hired to ration what politicians just promised was unlimited.
If car insurance covered tires… https://t.co/YKWfkOWdop
The tire analogy is excellent. That's a good one to share with your friends.
Free waiting rooms for all! https://t.co/kiuOmiVG6P
