The American Left relentlessly accuses Israel of 'genocide,' alleging deliberate civilian deaths and starvation in Gaza, while decrying 'war crimes' and 'Zionism,' claiming supporters endorse the slaughter of innocents. Amid these charges, one might expect Egypt, a neighboring Muslim-majority nation, to open its borders to save Palestinians from this alleged crisis. Yet, Egypt has firmly refused, keeping the Rafah crossing closed to mass refugee flows despite its own accusations of Israeli 'genocide.'
Egypt has just confirmed that it will NOT open its border with Gaza in order to allow Palestinian children and mothers in Gaza to escape what Egypt calls a "genocide." Egypt also just confirmed that it will not allow Palestinian children who need food to walk with their mothers…

"Displacement means liquidation and the end of the Palestinian cause and there is no legal or moral or ethical ground to evict people from their homeland," he said. His comments are in line with a hardening of Egyptian language this year about Israel's conduct in the enclave, which borders Egypt, even as it has worked with Qatar and the U.S. to try to mediate a ceasefire in the almost two-year-old war.Repeating accusations of genocide levelled by the Egyptian leadership against Israel in recent months, he added: "What is happening on the ground is far beyond the imagination. There is a genocide in motion there, mass killing of civilians, artificial starvation created by the Israelis," Abdelatty said.
If Egypt's leadership genuinely believes Israel is causing 'starvation' in Gaza, why not open the Rafah border and allow Palestinians to cross for food and safety? It seems like a straightforward solution. Yet, Egypt refuses, likely because they doubt the starvation narrative and fear the instability a mass influx of Palestinians could bring. Instead of addressing the crisis directly, Egypt opts for impassioned speeches, deflecting blame onto Israel while avoiding the challenges of hosting refugees.
Let's be honest, it's because "we think every one of these people is a destabilizing human bomb ready to happen." https://t.co/G2r73POj6R

That's exactly what they think and honestly, they are probably not wrong.
Those who say they want the suffering to end should attack this decision...but they are quiet. Why? https://t.co/Dq3Cxu9AHR

They're afraid if they speak up, they'll be expected to offer an actual solution.
Just confirming what everyone with a brain already knows: the “genocide” is just a tool to hit Israel. What country bordering on an actual genocide would close its borders to refugees. https://t.co/RwXtB2JB9e

“The Jordanians we left in Gaza must remain until they succeed in destroying Israel or die trying, because their ‘refugee’ status is just too damn politically convenient as a cudgel against Israel.” https://t.co/xmyYTgMx0R
Egypt’s actions suggest they’re leveraging Gaza’s crisis for political gain, prioritizing strategic interests over Palestinian welfare. Despite condemning Israel’s alleged ‘genocide,’ they keep the Rafah border tightly shut, citing security and the Palestinian cause’s preservation. If their concern were genuine, they’d open their borders to provide refuge, not just offer rhetoric while leaving Gazans trapped.
