Another day ending in 'y' on Twitter, and non-Christians are using cherry-picked Bible verses to lecture Christians on their political views. It's ironic—people who don't believe in or follow the Bible are quick to weaponize its words to shame those who do.
Why when Jesus talks about feeding the poor, it’s christianity. But when a politician talks about feeding the poor, it’s socialism?

Apparently, someone told Sara he is not allowed to help the poor? Jesus certainly never said that.

Have you repented of your sins, taken up your cross and followed Him?

Of course he hasn't. He thinks Christianity is for idiots. He just wants to tell Christians how to act using our Holy Scriptures.
Our Savior also said the poor would always be w us. But as Christians it is up to EACH INDIVIDUAL NOT AS A COLLECTIVE (as in socialism) to be charitable!

Christ specifically tells us our demeanor when we give is important. That means Christ expects us to give individually and do so joyfully.
🤦♂️If I voluntarily give to my neighbor that’s called a “gift” or “charity”. When a government steals your money under the threat of force then “redistributes” that money for the “greater good”, that’s socialism.

When Jesus speaks of feeding the poor it’s about giving of yourself.
— John (@thesnck) June 26, 2025
When politicians speak about feeding g the poor it’s about taking from others.
It’s not just taking from others—it’s often taking from hardworking people who can’t afford to give and redistributing to those who choose not to work.
The church should feed the poor. Not the government.

But it’s hilarious you believe that socialist actually cares and would help the people at all.
Debunking your lie with facts and scripture:
— 4Saken (@4SakenGhost) June 27, 2025
When Jesus talked about feeding the poor, He was speaking to individuals, not governments. He was calling on the Church, not Caesar.
That’s the difference.
Jesus never told the Roman Empire to seize wealth and redistribute it. He…
Jesus said Christians should heed laws and follow the rules of Caesar. He didn't say Christians should tell Caesar what they are going to do.
Some people have no concept of the distinction between:
— Matt Van Swol (@matt_vanswol) June 27, 2025
a) giving freely
b) taxation
They are not the same.
Oh, they understand, but if they were honest, they couldn't pound the Bible over the heads of Christians.
Yes, glad you get it.

Jesus calls on people to have a sincere conversion of heart. Outsourcing care of the poor to the government not only is very different, but it goes *against* that goal.
It’s shocking, but it turns out there’s a big difference between voluntary giving of yourself and a government with a huge army confiscating your stuff and giving it away.

Who knew? https://t.co/7ZhQuGK3UR
Few, if any, Scriptures support giving under coercion, as if with a gun to your head. True giving, as the Bible teaches, flows from a joyful heart, not from force.
