I am a Conservative Who Supports Rule of Law and Trump's January 6 Pardons

There has been a great deal of discussion about President Trump's (doesn't that sound good) pardon of all J6 Defendants. Before we get into it, I think it's important to point out many J6 defendants still remain in jail today because they have not yet been convicted. They were waiting for trial. The pardon ONLY applies to defendants who have been convicted and sentenced. For those who have not yet been convicted, the US Attorney has to put in an order to dismiss their charges and a judge has to approve it. The requests to dismiss have started, so hopefully those folks will be out soon, too.

Ok, so back to the people who WERE let out as a result of President Trump's pardons. Some of them did some egregious things and they should not be proud of that. Here's the issue ... even the people who did bad things were way overcharged and the government went way overboard. We also still have no answers about how many FBI agents were in the crowd and how many were actually ENCOURAGING the out of control emotional tenure of the day's events. Too many unanswered questions leads me to believe it was time to end the whole charade.

Marina Medvin is an attorney for many of the J6 defendants. She has worked tirelessly to tell their stories and secure them the best outcomes possible. She was working against a whole rotten system in D.C. As she explains, so much taxpayer money and so much talent was spent on this nonsense. Americans deserve a full accounting of why this became such a focal point for the federal government under Biden.

Many of these people were regular Americans charged with nothing more than trespassing, yet given outrageous sentences because some Congress folks were scared. Of course, that isn't right. It was also not right for businesses to be burned to the ground and looted, police officers killed and injured and residents terrified to lose their homes during the summer of 2020 and the BLM riots. The difference is, the people who participated in those atrocities either were never charged or received a slap on the wrist. Our country can't tolerate that sort of two tier system of justice. That's why the only answer was to let the J6 defendants go.

In reply, I say, yes, I am an American conservative who believes in the rule of law and is the Mother of a First Responder. I just believe that the rule of law must apply to all Americans equally, and as a group, the J6 Defendants got a really bad deal. The only corrective action appropriate was swift justice for the whole group with one swipe of a pen. It was the right thing to do and I have no qualms about it.
