The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) warned reporters outside of their office in Uvalde, Texas that they’re criminally trespassing on private property and have asked them to leave:

This is not a good look:

UCISD Police Cheif Pete Arredondo, who served as the on-scene commander during last week’s shooting, is reportedly inside the building:

Some truth from Twitchy favorite Dana Loesch:
The gun control lobby doesn’t want you to carry because they say these are the only people allowed to protect lives. https://t.co/QDbQSSsM36

The district spox isn’t answering any questions:
School spokesperson came out to us before our live shot to say the school will release a statement. She refused to answer my repeated questions about the door not locking.

And the written statement from the district “addresses none of the questions” as well:
Here is the statement just released. It addresses none of the questions. They say they’re cooperating with investigators. DPS told reporters yesterday the police chief has not returned their calls. pic.twitter.com/VYsdktHR8n

McLaughlin says it the swearing in ceremony was not public “out of respect for the families who buried their children today.”
The mayor is also walking back his criticism of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. “I misunderstood statements I thought he said.”

CNN did catch up with Arredondo earlier in the day where he denied yesterday’s reporting that he was refusing to cooperate with the Texas Department of Public Safety and its investigation:
UVALDE (@CNN) — Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief, Pedro Arredondo, tells CNN exclusively he’s in touch daily w TX Dept of Public Safety. When asked about reports he wasn’t cooperating, he told @aaroncooperNYC “I am in contact with DPS everyday”
— Mike Valerio (@ValerioCNN) June 1, 2022
Arredondo said he’s been speaking to DPS daily:
UVALDE (@CNN) – In an interview with @ShimonPro, the police chief of Uvalde schools declined to explain why officers did NOT immediately storm the classroom where the gunman murdered children. He also said he speaks w state law enforcement daily, contradicting TX law enforcement pic.twitter.com/5eO6MmRWB9

Arredondo was also sworn in as a member of the Uvalde City Council last night:
So, the #Uvalde City Council cancelled the public meeting they had scheduled for today.
But, Mayor Don McLaughlin says the newly elected members, including Uvalde schools police chief Pete Arredondo, were sworn in… today.
— Sergio Martínez-Beltrán (@SergioMarBel) June 1, 2022
But it was done in private:
McLaughlin says it the swearing in ceremony was not public “out of respect for the families who buried their children today.”
The mayor is also walking back his criticism of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. “I misunderstood statements I thought he said.”
