According to the article, the district is worried that kids will get Covid in school and then kill their parents:
"We believe that the best form of teaching our scholars is having them f-2-f, but we also understand that if we send sick kids home, it is a chance that those kids could become orphans. And I think that is just too high of a price to pay at this time." https://t.co/dz1zoX3D2J

Of course, this isn’t how kids are getting Covid and they’re more likely to get it at home but that doesn’t seem to matter to these education experts:
"The CDC has said multiple studies show transmission of Covid-19 in school settings is usually lower than or similar to community transmission… the superintendent of Flint Community Schools… stands by his decision." https://t.co/xH963p3smU

Other parts of Michigan aren’t doing this:
Meanwhile, on the west side of the state, #Michigan schools have been in the classroom unmasked & unphased since August. Others, masked, with no major closures. Students need in-person education to thrive & the access to food & resources it brings with it. https://t.co/4i4W5xZNWW

These kids are being left behind and nobody gives a s*it:
This is doing significant harm with almost no scientific basis in a school district where over 80% of the children are minorities. These kids are being left behind because of ignorant and selfish adults. https://t.co/sJdqyx8QZn

Exit question: Where is Michael Moore on this?
When we see a widening gap between poor (predominantly minority) and wealthy students in a few years, it won’t have been caused by systemic racism or a lack of resources. It will have been due to an intentional choice by liberal bureaucrats to put unions first, kids last.
