The war on statues has claimed a new victim overnight in the cities of Richmond, Va. and Boston, Mass: Christopher Columbus.
First up, Richmond, where the likeness of the Italian explorer was thrown into a lake by protesters:

But not before they attempted to burn the stone monument while, in the words of Bloomberg News, “fighting racism”:
