$1 billion worth of U.S. military vehicles captured by ISIS, so Treas. Dept. investigates local Toyota dealers

The U.S. Treasury Department is on the case! Are they investigating how over a billion dollars worth of U.S. taxpayer funded military vehicles like Humvees and other armored vehicles are in the hands of ISIS? Nah. They’re thinking bigger.

Like, how is ISIS getting their hands on … Toyotas?

So, basically, somebody in the Middle East is buying Toyotas and selling or giving them to ISIS, who then mounts machine guns on them. And Treasury wants to know more about it.

Let’s also point out that the Treasury Department is really late to this investigation, as pointed out by Dana Loesch at The Blaze in this really funny parody video featuring the “Toyota ISIS” pickup truck in June. The ISIS-Toyota connection has been mocked for years now:

“Regrettably, the Toyota Land Cruiser and Hilux have effectively become almost part of the ISIS brand,” said Mark Wallace, a former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, who is CEO of the Counter Extremism Project, a non-profit working to expose the financial support networks of terror groups.

“ISIS has used these vehicles in order to engage in military-type activities, terror activities, and the like,” Wallace told ABC News. “But in nearly every ISIS video, they show a fleet — a convoy of Toyota vehicles and that’s very concerning to us.”
