We’re learning a little bit more about Bryce Williams’ employment history as well as new details about the “manifesto” he sent to ABC News last night/early this morning outlining his deranged motives for today’s attack.
First up, ABC News reports that Williams had been in contact with ABC on numerous occasions both prior to and after today’s shooting:
"A man claiming to be Bryce Williams called ABC News over the last few weeks, saying he wanted to pitch a story" http://t.co/LyD3Agq9Xx

He called ABC again this morning around 10am and said that he shot two people this morning http://t.co/LyD3Agq9Xx said police are "after me"

And Williams wrote in the “manifesto” that his actions today were partly in retaliation for Dylann Roof’s shooting spree at Charleston church earlier this year:
According to shooters manifesto he carved initials of victims of Charleston church shooting into bullets he used. #WDBJ #roanoke

"You want a race war…? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE…!!!” Jehovah spoke to him, telling him to act. – from Flanagan's manifesto. #WDBJ

The killers behind the Virginia Tech and Columbine massacres were referenced as well:

Wonderful.
More from ABC News:
In an often rambling letter to the authorities, and family and friends, he writes of a long list of grievances. In one part of the document, Williams calls it a “Suicide Note for Friends and Family.”
*He says has suffered racial discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying at work
*He says he has been attacked by black men and white females
*He talks about how he was attacked for being a gay, black man
We also learned that Williams had previously sued a television station in Tallahassee, Fla. where he worked, again claiming racism was a factor:

And when he was fired from WDBJ in 2013, it didn’t go well:
