A policewoman investigating a traffic accident was shot and killed near Paris earlier this morning. Police, however, are cautioning the media from linking this attack to yesterday’s deadly attack against Charlie Hebdo magazine:

AFP is reporting that the assailant was wearing a “bullet-proof vest“:
A policewoman who was shot by a gunman wearing a bullet-proof vest just outside Paris has died and a second victim is in serious condition, police said Thursday.
It should be noted that media outlets in the past have confused conventional tactical vests or other clothing with body armor.
