Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, writing with Luisa Neubauer and Angela Valenzuela (whoever they are), explained that her activism isn’t just about the environment, but dismantling the “colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression” around the world:
That action must be powerful and wide-ranging. After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.
Er, does she think this helps what she wants to do?
Making climate change about non-climate issues makes the crisis harder to solve. You lament the lack of political will, but you're contributing to the difficulty in mustering it.
It's a giant, important problem. Focus on it.

This is the quiet part she’s not supposed to say out loud:
"It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. " – Greta Thurnberg
And just like that the climate change issue was further poisoned and politicized ?https://t.co/SevyAsEfdq

And here’s some weapons-grade sarcasm that is so good many thought he was serious about it:
One huge drawback of nuclear power is that it doesn’t dismantle systems of oppression – it only produces clean energy. This makes it unsuitable for solving the climate crisis, which isn’t just about the environment. https://t.co/tkgWSCWbQK pic.twitter.com/Qjw3O9lm8y

Per-FECT:
Yes, this is sarcasm that's being used to point out the real goals of these "climate crisis" groups. https://t.co/O6pyYwnMz3

Do they even hear themselves?
I'm glad they are at least being honest that the goal here is to redistribute power, not solve a climate crisis. Their ideas should be treated accordingly.
(My understanding is Zack was rightly mocking their argument).

It’s just more alarmist BS:
"We are facing an existential and immediate crisis that requires everyone to completely give up their current lifestyles, but we won't support solutions that don't advance our other unrelated political goals"
These are not serious people & they don't believe their own alarmism. https://t.co/jDT4Pr584I

When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time:
LOL
TFW they’re too stupid to play along with the con.
But thanks for admitting it’s not really about climate. https://t.co/dUoxGl7Br6

As for Greta, she’s on Day 18 of her journey across the Atlantic and hoping to make it to the big climate pow-wow in Madrid on time:
Day 18. We’re speeding towards Europe! Estimated time of arrival right now is Tuesday morning. We’ll be arriving at Doca de Alcantara, Lisbon. We are all looking forward to see you there! @Sailing_LaVaga@elayna__c @_NikkiHenderson pic.twitter.com/PlOxgUeETx

Apparently, the “colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression” that have created such incredible wealth that ordinary people can afford their own sailing yachts will survive her purge. For the climate, of course.
