It’s not just Lena Dunham and her celebrity pals that are at the border today. Evan Rachel Wood, star of HBO’s hit “Westworld,” showed up in Texas today as well:

She later said on CNN that “this isn’t about party right now. This is about children, that’s it”:

She did get rid of the hat for her CNN hit, however:

The shelter let Wood inside to play with the kids:
Just hung out with some of the families at one of the shelters people are sent to while they are being processed. Played with the kids for hours. They were so sweet, insanely smart, and creative. They have obviously been thru a lot and need supplies and medicine. #EvanInTX pic.twitter.com/lZ5vNTSOPm

She also announced that she’s on a 24-hour hunger strike to protest the separation of families:

She did donate a lot of supplies while there, so it wasn’t just a photo-op:
Certain organizations, like The Red Cross, have not been “given permission” to donate supplies.

Although she’s misstating what the Red Cross meant when they tweeted they don’t have “permission” to access the detention centers and shelters:
Please note we’ve had discussions with federal officials to see if there is a way we can help, but no one is “banning” us from anything, and if there is a role for the Red Cross to play, we will.
