Iranian journalist Alireza Akbari reports that U.S. and Israeli forces have blown up the B1 bridge in the Iranian city of Karaj.
B1 bridge in Karaj has been hit in US-ISRAELI attacks.

This bridge is reportedly the "highest bridge in West Asia." pic.twitter.com/rZUhmeT9ph
Mehdi Hasan, who's definitely not a terrorist supporter, called the destruction of the bridge state terrorism and a war crime.
This is what terrorism looks like, state terrorism, we do it to others and then we act shocked when others do it back to us.

War crimes: https://t.co/rrcJ05lRGB
United Nations tool Mohamad Safa also called it a war crime by terrorists.
Imagine if Iran bombed and destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge in California, what would you call it? TERRORISTS

The U.S bombed and destroyed the highest bridge in Iran, the B1 bridge, why do you call it “PEACE”?
Bombing a bridge is a war crime under international humanitarian law pic.twitter.com/p3XBraaxMv
This is the first time a bridge has ever been bombed in wartime.
University of Chicago professor and director of the Middle East program at think tank Defense Priorities, Rosemary Kelanic, also can't see the military rationale for destroying a bridge.
What could possibly be the military rationale for this.
— Rosemary Kelanic (@RKelanic) April 2, 2026
There isn’t one. https://t.co/xJ5bvJ1XUW
Just astonishing to me that someone could claim to be this credentialed, yet be completely unaware of the importance of disrupting bridges during conflict.
— Bonchie (@bonchieredstate) April 2, 2026
There has not been a single war in modern history that has not included the destruction of bridges. https://t.co/gbbzh3ub2w
Becoming increasingly clear that one's credentials generally don't mean squat.

What is the military rationale for disrupting supply lines by destroying bridges at key transportation choke points? Are you on crack?
— Enguerrand VII de Coucy (@ingelramdecoucy) April 2, 2026
Supply lines. What are they and what are they for?
— EducatëdHillbilly™ (@RobProvince) April 2, 2026
Disrupt supply lines.....
— Frank (@richardrahl1086) April 2, 2026
Are you seriously asking what the military utility of destroying an opponent's bridges is?
— Jonathan Eyal (@JEyal_RUSI) April 2, 2026
We aren't in a ground war with Iran.
— Rosemary Kelanic (@RKelanic) April 2, 2026
You need to stop talking about this subject as you are wholly unable to participate due to complete lack of understanding.
— Frank (@richardrahl1086) April 2, 2026
Do you think they’re moving munitions and missiles around via direct teleportation?
— Enguerrand VII de Coucy (@ingelramdecoucy) April 2, 2026
You don’t have to be in a ground war to disrupt their logistics. Are you just trolling or something?
— Lincolnian (@lastfullmeasure) April 2, 2026
But we *are* in “a war.” And you impede enemy movement and supply lines during “a war” by blowing up his bridges.
— NC Omie (@nc_nma) April 2, 2026
Are you seriously suggesting that only a "ground war" justifies destroying infrastructure that can be used by the Iranian military?
— Buttermaker (@BiffGizmo) April 2, 2026
They use vehicles to move and launch missiles and drones.
— BoSoxJim (@BoSoxJim1) April 2, 2026
This limits their ability to do so.
Also, should the US begin performing targeted missions on the ground, it will help minimize the number of Iranian forcees they will have to deal with.
You dont need to be in a ground war to understand that bridges move not only troops but equipment.
— Unburdened By What Has Been (@donciccio807) April 2, 2026
This is literally the most effective ways to cripple the regime without civilian casualties.
— Davidov (@noelle_dave) April 2, 2026
Missle movement. Ammo movement. I am glad you are not in the defense department. We would all be dead.
— Desdamona's Rocketship (@desdamonas_rock) April 2, 2026
— Konsenious (@Konsenious) April 2, 2026
So the cannot move missiles over the bridge. There has been a lot of conversation about Iran trying to mobilize their approach and move missiles to confuse US targeting - the Iran spokesperson basically said this out loud.
— Megan Shea (@meganlshea) April 2, 2026
Oh? And how does Iran move ballistic missile launcher vehicles around the country? How does Iran move those ballistic missiles from factories where they were made to the launchers?
— CatoTheElder556 (@CElder556) April 2, 2026
How is it possible you’re this clueless?
Kelanic thanks everyone for replying and evelating her original post, which remains stupid. At least she stopped short of calling it a war crime, although you know she thinks it is.
