Last night, I was looking through the list of some of the performers and bands that have said they would no longer be participating in the July 4th Freedom 250 concert in Washington, DC. It was like time traveling back to the 80s and sitting with friends at 50-cent draft night at a local club near Michigan State University. But there are other performers who are a little more recent who were on the bill.
Earlier today Sam wrote about Martina McBride taking an approach used by others, claiming they were bailing out because the event wouldn't be "nonpartisan" as they were told. McBride previously didn't hesitate to appear at Democratic events, so it's clear that she just didn't want to take heat from the Left over the Freedom concert. As usual, the side that likes to wrap themselves in the "free speech" blanket has hissy fits when somebody dares to disagree and not do as they're told.
There are other reasons as well. Occasional front man of Poison, Bret Michaels, has also backed out, and of course paid Democrat shill Harry Sisson didn't feel compelled to provide the actual reason:
