Remember when many Democrats, especially the "Seditious Six," were encouraging servicemembers to disobey what they referred to as "illegal orders" (presumably defined by any order that comes down from Trump)?
I can't help but wonder why some of those same Dems aren't slamming members of the military for refusing to carry out what they're now claiming was Trump's "illegal" mission to capture Nicolas Maduro and bring him back to the U.S. to face charges.
The United States carried out a lightning military strike on Venezuela early Saturday, capturing President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and spiriting them out of the country. American officials say the pair will face narco-terrorism charges in U.S. courts.

Explosions rang out and low-flying aircraft swept through Venezuela's capital, Caracas, early Saturday. At least seven blasts were heard in an attack that lasted less than 30 minutes. The targets appeared to include military infrastructure. Smoke was seen rising from the hangar of a military base in Caracas and another military installation in the capital was without power.
Trump said in a social media post that Maduro "has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country."
During today's press conference, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth gave the mission an acronym that might apply to others who don't heed warnings: FAFO:
Democrats are now angry that certain members of Congress weren't notified in advance:
“Trump rejected our Constitutionally required approval process for armed conflict because the Administration knows the American people overwhelmingly reject risks pulling our nation into another war,” Sen. Andy Kim, D-N.J., said in a post to X on Saturday.
[...]
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., in a statement, called the decision to take military action in Venezuela without congressional authorization “reckless.”
“The administration has assured me three separate times that it was not pursuing regime change or taking military action in Venezuela. Clearly, they are not being straight with Americans,” Schumer said.
Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., the ranking member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told MSNOW that he had “no briefing or heads up. I received all information from the news media at this point.”
The reason congressional leaders weren't tipped off is quite simple: Everybody knows what would have happened next, which is exactly what Trump and Rubio told reporters today. In a word: "Leaks":
On the lack of congressional notification before the operation:

Rubio: “This is not the kind of mission you can pre-notify”
Trump: “Congress has a tendency to leak.”
Whenever we hear the word "leaker" we think of Adam Schiff, but many other congressional Dems would have no doubt put the word out to try and throw a wrench in Operation Absolute Resolve. Trump, Rubio and Hegseth knew that:
🚨 BREAKING: President Trump just said it PERFECTLY in response to the Fake News
— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) January 3, 2026
"Did you notify Congress in advance?!"
TRUMP: "Congress has a tendency to LEAK. This would NOT be good. If they leaked, it would've been a very different result!"
"We don't want leakers!" pic.twitter.com/mPsNipRcjl
"Congress has a tendency to LEAK. This would NOT be good. If they leaked, it would've been a very different result!"
Absolutely. And that's because the Democrats wanted a very different result.
