Back when it was becoming clear that CBS News was preparing to hire former New York Times op-ed editor and writer Bari Weiss to run the operation, self-described "journalists" were triggered to the point of threatening to quit (many had already "quit" actual journalism long ago).
Last month this take on the change at the helm of CBS News from an infamous "journalist" made me spit out some coffee:
Dan Rather questions Bari Weiss’ credentials for CBS role, says hiring is ‘dark day’ for network https://t.co/P0WfvTws0J pic.twitter.com/IHOxSTChSB

Maybe Dan could remind everybody why he lost the anchor job at the network since he's in the mood to talk about journalistic credibility and credentials.
Not to be outdone though, Katie Couric also weighed in on Weiss taking over at CBS News, and as usual this one comes with a beverage warning:
Katie Couric claims new owners of CBS, Bari Weiss are ‘compromising independent journalism’ https://t.co/EEXtnDqRxp pic.twitter.com/t0rA2GkZj8

From the New York Post:
Katie Couric criticized CBS News’ corporate owner Paramount Skydance last week — opining that its move to put the division under the editorial control of Bari Weiss is “compromising independent journalism.”
Couric, the former anchor of the “CBS Evening News,” warned during a gala in New York last week that “the whole setup with the Ellisons bringing her in and buying the Free Press is compromising independent journalism.”
Her remarks, first reported by the Status newsletter, were a reaction to a question from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd about the deal engineered by Paramount CEO David Ellison, who folded Weiss’ Free Press newsletter into the company and installed her atop CBS News’ editorial operation.
First, everybody knows that CBS just settled with Donald Trump over a deceptively edited video intended to help the Democrat nominee just ahead of the election, and second, Couric needs to take all the seats when it comes to "compromising journalism":
Didn’t Katie Couric deceptively edit an interview with a gun owner to give a false impression of the comments he had actually made?

Yep, that's her:
Self-proclaimed “journalists” like this are the least self aware people on the planet. pic.twitter.com/cxmkP1C8k9

Self-described "journalists" are some of the lease self-aware and most shameless people on the planet.
Couric wasn't worried about 'compromising independent journalism' when her ethics were questioned for concealing Justice Ginsburg's comments and using manipulative editing that misrepresented a documentary, both in 2016

Never mind what she knew and when about Matt Lauer https://t.co/nxyFLWbCou
The big trust problem with legacy media that partisans like Katie Couric actually believe they’re independent and objective. It’s patently insulting. https://t.co/wAn2x7AJ1v

Which is why it was so insanely funny recently when Couric said she's decided to no longer be objective when it comes to covering Trump. She should scrap the "journalism" thing and go into comedy.
