By now it's become quite clear that California Gov. Gavin Newsom is planning to run for president in 2028 even though he's already stated that Trump is going to cancel that election and it won't even take place.
Newsom's list of policy fails and hypocrisy is already quite long, and we all know about his government's failed fire response and the super-expensive high speed rail project that's barely started and will never be finished -- at least not in our lifetimes.
Today though I ran across yet another example of progressive "governance" gone from bad to worse.
First here's a reminder from more than three years ago featuring Newsom bragging about the state's nearly $100 billion budget surplus which everybody was supposed to believe was a result of his brilliant policies:
At the time Newsom said "California is a model for our nation." Really?
No thanks, Gavin.

What Newsom didn't mention at the time was that "the $97.5 billion surplus was a four-year projection that Newsom's people based on faulty revenue assumptions."
"Faulty revenue assumptions" are a progressive Dem politician specialty.
Out: $97.5 billion surplus.

If you search Newsom's X account for the word "surplus" you'll find nothing past early 2022.
The only "surplus" Newsom has now is in the hair gel, ego and BS departments.
