President Biden is handing out Presidential Citizens Medals today on the second anniversary of the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Amid the remembrances, I couldn’t help but notice that some false narratives are continuing to be pushed and the “fact-checkers” will no doubt look the other way.
Here’s what Biden said today about Capitol Police Officer William Evans, who was killed in the line of duty early in 2021:
“Three months after January 6th while they were still cordoning off the Capitol because of threats by the sick insurrectionists continued to profligate on the internet. Again all of America saw what happened, when officer Evans was killed defending a checkpoint you had to go through to get up to the Capitol, because of these godawful sick threats.”
Clearly Biden wants everybody to assume Officer Evans was killed by the people he called “sick insurrectionists” — in other words, some Trump supporters.
This is actually who killed officer William Evans:
The suspect in the death of a Capitol Police officer described himself on Facebook as a follower of Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, who has repeatedly promoted anti-Semitism.
The suspect, Noah R. Green, 25, was identified by two law enforcement officials and a congressional official. He was from Indiana and died after being shot by the Capitol Police.
On Facebook, Mr. Green had posted speeches and articles written by Mr. Farrakhan and Elijah Muhammad, who led the Nation of Islam from 1934 to 1975, that discussed the decline of America. Two law enforcement officials confirmed that the Facebook page, which was taken down on Friday, had belonged to Mr. Green.
But whoever wrote Biden’s speech certainly didn’t let reality get in the way of another desired narrative:

Not surprisingly, Biden did the same thing last year:
