Yesterday, just ahead of one of the many votes in the House aimed at electing the next Speaker (which continued Thursday), Rep. Chip Roy nominated Byron Donalds for that leadership role, much to the chagrin of some Democrats:

Rep. Lauren Boebert also nominated Donalds:

In spite of all that, Mara Gay, who is on the New York Times editorial board, can be counted on to push the predictable spin:

Donalds getting some support from some anti-McCarthy Republicans is a really weird way for them to show that they fear “the browning of America”:

It’s all the Left has, really.
So instead of rubber-stamping an old white guy, they vote for a young black guy, which according to the half-wit from NY Times is a way to stop "browning of America."
A few days to pick a Speaker is "terrifying."
Another reason to enjoy this: These hacks are losing their minds. https://t.co/qDL2SjquJx— Gerry Callahan (@GerryCallahan) January 6, 2023
If only the Left ever actually listened to themselves (and they lost their minds long ago so that’s never going to happen).
Meanwhile, all of the anti-McCarthy holdouts voted for an African American on several #SpeakerVotes 🤡🤡🤡🤡 https://t.co/Wa8MAohq8c

Sounds like Mara Gay doesn't like democracy https://t.co/kqzPjVrH8L

Right?
Of course, she's on the NY Times editorial board. Of course.

That should surprise no one. But people like Mara Gay (or Cori Bush) would like these 20 or so Republicans to show how much they support putting black people in positions of political power by voting for McCarthy over Donalds… or something.
